Safeway International Tee-Off Luncheon honors Judy Rankin
January 29, 2004 - Phoenix, AZ
The Safeway International LPGA tournament in Phoenix will hold its annual Tee-Off Luncheon at noon, February 10, 2004, at the Arizona Biltmore.
Tickets for the event are $40 for individual seats and $400 for a table of 10. Reservations can be made by calling 602-495-4654. Reservation deadline is Friday. February 6.
Sponsored by Scottsdale-based STRATCO, the event typically sets the stage for the upcoming LPGA's tournament week activities, scheduled between March 15- 21 at the Superstition Mountain Golf and Country Club in the Southeast Valley. The LPGA's top golfers will begin play March 18 through March 21.
Judy Rankin, a former LPGA star and now a commentator for ESPN and ABC Sports, will be the guest of honor at the Tee-Off Luncheon, receiving the tournament's Linda Vollstedt Award for service and leadership in women's sports. She is member of the LPGA Hall of Fame and considered one of the top LPGA players and teachers.
Headlined speaker at the event is Ty Votaw, LPGA Commissioner, who will provide an update on the growing popularity of ladies golf.
