Maletis Re-elected President of LPGA Tournament Sponsors Association

The LPGA Tournament Sponsors Association (TSA) has announced that Tom Maletis has been elected to a second term as President of the organization.

Maletis is the President of Tournament Golf Foundation, Inc., (TGFI) the non-profit organization that states the Safeway Classic in Portland, OR, and the Safeway International in Phoenix, AZ.

In addition to his duties to with TGFI and TSA, Maletis serves on numerous non-profit boards locally and nationally.

The Safeway Classic has donated more than $8 million to local children’s charities in Oregon since it started in 1972. The Safeway International has raised over $9 million for cancer research and other charities since it started in 1983.

Other officers named to the TSA Board include Mark Hersch, Kellogg-Keebler Classic, vice-president; Ruthie Harrison, ShopRite LPGA Classic, treasurer; JoAnne Heller, Wachovia LPGA Classic hosted by Betsy King, secretary.

LPGA Commissioner Ty Votaw stated, “I know everyone at the LPGA would echo my sentiments that under the direction of the Safeway Classic and Safeway International’s Tom Maletis, the LPGA and its events will enjoy continued growth and elevated fan experiences.”
